Disclaimer:
I WISH I owned Miss Parker, Jarod, Sydney, Broots, Cox, Brigitte, Raines, Lyle,
Mr Parker, Sam etc. (Phew, am I done yet?) Umm, maybe not Raines or Brigitte.
But I don’t, they belong to NBC, MTM, TNT, 20th Century Fox and
Pretender Productions. (Man this is getting depressing.) I’m not doing this
for money but for my sanity and enjoyment. Please don’t sue cause I ain’t
got a lot of money. Thanx, Tigress Parker.
Stormy
Weather:
By
Tigress Parker
The
hunt
was utter chaos. It started
so well, under the circumstances that it was snowing heavily. Parker saw Jarod
before he had a chance to see them and bolt. But after half an hour of playing
cat and mouse the ‘snowing heavily’ turned into a blizzard so that it was
impossible to see your hand in front of your face. So in the end, everyone was
separated and lost in the woods.
The
sweepers were able to hunt down Sydney and Broots, but they had no luck tracking
Parker or Jarod, the snow had covered their tracks. They headed back into town
to wait out the storm.
^_b^_b^_b^_b^_b
Parker
ran through the snow, trying to find shelter, but having no luck. She was cold,
wet and tired and to make things worse she had lost Jarod. Again. Suddenly she
ran into something hard. *Great another tree!* She thought angrily and rubbed
her sore shoulder. She ran her hands
along in and peered into the snow, but this wasn’t a tree, it was too wide and
it didn’t feel like a tree. Skimming across the surface she came across a
handle, she turned it and shoved against what she thought was a door.
She
fell into a room. It was soft lighted and now looking around she could see it
was a cabin. She leant against the door and fought the harsh wind to try and
shut it. She ended up winning. She pulled the lock across and surveyed her
surroundings. “Who’s there?” She heard a voice call from further in.
“Umm,
there’s a storm outside and I just needed somewhere to take cover. I can go if
you want.” She headed for the door but stopped when she heard the voice again.
“You
don’t have to go Parker.” She spun round and faced him angrily. He was
standing in the doorway in jeans and a blue football jersey.
“Jarod!”
She snarled angrily.
“Now,
now, I can’t see why we can’t share this space.” Jarod smiled at her
smugly.
“Yes
there is! I’m meant to catch you! But no, you had to make us chase you in a
fucking blizzard so I got separated from the others!” She growled and stepped
away from the door.
“Oh,
poor Parker.” Jarod said, playing an imaginary violin. “But you have to
watch your language because I have very sensitive ears.”
“You
bastard!” She snarled and lunged at him. He moved and she tripped over the
chair, hitting her head. She moaned and fell to the floor.
“Parker,
you OK?” Jarod asked her concerned, she didn’t seem to be moving.
“Parker?” He rolled her onto her back. Her hand shot up and wrapped around
his throat tightly. He tried to undo the vice that was around his throat but he
couldn’t move her hand. “Parker, let go, I’m not going to hurt you.” He
whispered hoarsely. She let go of his throat and shoved him back. “For Christ
sake Parker, what the hells wrong with you?” He growled.
“Don’t
touch me again, got it Rat Boy?” She stood up, but had to grab the table for
support because she started to feel dizzy. She touched her head gently, but
flinched and looked at her fingers. Blood.
“I
think you better sit down and let me look at your head.” Jarod said gently.
“Why
don’t you go and sit in your corner!” She spat hatefully.
“I’m
only trying…”
“I
don’t want or need your help.” She touched her head again, but there
wasn’t that much blood. *It’s probably only a little cut* She thought.
“You
better get out of those wet clothes, you’ll get sick otherwise.”
“Oh
yeah, like I’m really gonna do that. You couldn’t care less if I get sick,
then you wouldn’t have me chasing you for a few weeks.” She snarled at him
coldly.
“Why
do you find it hard to believe that I care about you?” Jarod asked her
seriously.
“Oh
Christ! If that’s what I have to put up with till the blizzards over, I’m
just gonna leave now!” She walked towards the door, but Jarod blocked her way.
“Oh? And just why would you want to keep me here? You do realise I could kill
you as easily as stepping on a bug?”
“Oh
and just how would you do that?” Jarod smiled at her, leaning against the
locked door.
“With
my…Oh shit!” She snarled as she felt her holster for her gun.
“With
your?” Jarod asked, mockingly. She backhanded him, roughly. His head fell
sharply to the side. When he lifted his head his eyes were smoldering angrily.
“Now, now, don’t you know that you have to play nice?”
“I
don’t have to play ANY WAY with you!” She snarled and walked away from the
door.
“You
really shouldn’t turn your back on someone when you’re fighting.”
“Oh,
and why is that?” She asked, not bothering to turn around.
“You
could get into trouble.” He said dangerously, slowly making his way behind her.
“Oh
and who’s going to give it to me?” She asked him, finally turning around in
time to see him come behind her and pin her to the wall. “Get off!” She
started to fight him, but he was stronger and easily stilled her movements.
“You’re really some piece of work!”
“Thank
you.” He said sarcastically.
“Now
that you’ve got me pinned to the wall, why don’t you just drop dead!” She
hissed angrily, her blues eyes flaming against his smoldering brown ones.
“That
wouldn’t be any fun.” Jarod smiled at her, enjoying seeing her cornered.
“I
don’t care what you think about fun, but your gonna find out this isn’t a
WISE move.” She snarled.
“And
why, Almighty Huntress, isn’t this a wise move?” She went to kick him in the
shins but he moved closer to her pinning her against the wall with his body.
“Now, didn’t I tell you that you have to play nice? You don’t kick.” He
scolded. Suddenly her hands came away from the wall and tried to wrap around his
throat. He flinched his head back and pushed her hands against the wall. “Will
you just calm down? You’re acting like I’m going to hurt you. But in the
position you can easily make that mistake.” Jarod looked up and down at her,
pinned against the wall.
She
turned her head away from him. “You make me sick! You’re a spineless little
twerp, who would only try this when I don’t have my gun and when no one’s
around.” She growled.
“But
you’re wrong. I think you need a backbone to do what I’m doing. I have the
Ice Queen cornered and trapped and she ain’t going nowhere!” He smiled.
“Jerk!”
She bucked, but he easily stilled her.
“You
really hate me don’t you?” She didn’t answer his question. “What have I
done to you for you to hate me so much? We used to be friends.” He said sadly.
“We
were NEVER friends!”
“Yes
we were.” He argued. “Remember when we were kids, I was the one who
comforted you when Faith died and then after your mother was shot!”
“I
don’t have to listen to this shit!”
“Yes
you do! Do you think your going to walk away when you take me back? How come
whenever someone breaks away from The Centre, they end up dead! I’m running
away to keep you safe!”
“Oh
yeah, you’re REALLY doing a FANTASTIC job too! I get shot every 5 minutes and
my ulcer ruptures every 10!”
“I
do tell you that you have to take better care of yourself. You have to learn how
to relax.”
“He
who talks about relaxing when he’s got me pinned against the cabin wall in he
middle of a fucking blizzard. TELL ME HOW I’M MEANT TO RELAX!” She demanded.
“I
wouldn’t have you pinned against the wall if you would just behave and stop
trying to kill me.” Jarod smiled at her.
“Hard
to break a four year habit!” She hissed and tried to move. There was something
stabbing into her spine and with Jarod having his body pressed against hers, she
was just getting shoved onto it. This didn’t get unnoticed by Jarod, who felt
her move and saw her flinch when she did.
“Back
hurt?” He asked gently. She nodded. “Will you behave?” She nodded again,
frowning in pain.
“Anything,
just let me off the fucking wall!” She said quickly. Jarod let her go and
moved back. She stepped away from the wall and put her hands where the pressure
was on her spine. When she stepped forward she stepped against Jarod again.
Neither
moved. They just stood there looking at each other. “You better get out of
those wet clothes. They’re getting cold. I’ve got some tracksuit pants and a
jersey that should fit, until your suits dry.”
She
nodded. “I better, I don’t want to get sick.” She stepped away. Her chest
was now cold, from where it was pressed against Jarod she had the warmth of his
body but now she was cold and started to shiver.
“The
bathroom’s through the bedroom, first and only door on the left down the
hallway.” Jarod pointed to the hallway. “I’ll just find some those clothes.
We’re going to be here for a while. The weather report said that the blizzard
was only going to get worse over the next week.”
“Great,
a weeks holiday, even if I am stuck with you.” She joked. Jarod started to
feel a little more comfortable with her been nice. Correction NICER.
“It
could be worse. You could have been stuck with Lyle.” He smiled, pulling out
the tracksuit pants and jersey out of a sideboard.
“If
you want me to kill you, you’re going the right way about it, now give me damn
clothes, I’m getting cold.” He handed them to her. “Thank you.” She
walked away.
^_b^_b^_b^_b^_b
She
came back out a few minutes later. The jersey and trackies were warm and
comfortable but she was still cold. Jarod was sitting out in the main part of
the living room on the couch with a blanket around him. “What’s wrong with
the fire?”
“The
chimney’s filled with snow. That’s the problem with this place, it gets
really cold in the winter when you leave it for a few days after and during a
blizzard. But I like it. It’s small but cozy.” He said in a far away voice.
“Another plus is no phone and no one can find it so I don’t get bothered.”
She
walked over to him and sat on the couch, at the other end, keeping her distance
from him. “I have to agree.” She murmured looking around.
Jarod
looked at her out of the corner of his eye and saw her shudder. “Still cold?”
“A
bit.”
He
opened the blanket like a wing. “Wanna share?” He asked with a smile.
“Share body heat.” She moved closer to him, but not much. “I won’t bite.”
He said in her ear.
“But
I will.” She smiled nervously.
“Doesn’t
matter, you don’t have any venom.” He put his arm around her shoulders and
pulled her closer to him. She snuggled down against him and rested her feet up
on the couch, so she was now in a ball next to him. He kept his arm around her
shoulders, keeping the blanket around her. “How’s that?” He murmured
softly in her ear.
“Better.”
She stretched out on the couch, pillowing her head on his shoulder. She moved
one of the blankets and draped it over her legs. “Now what?”
“Hibernate.
Sleep until the storms over.”
“I
can’t sleep that long.” She said softly, getting comfortable.
“We’ll
talk then. But we sleep now.” Jarod leant back into the arm of the chair.
“Comfy?”
“Not
really.” Parker got up. “You didn’t have to move.”
“Lie
down.”
“But…”
“Just
lie down.” He laid down cautiously. She climbed over his legs and laid down
between him and the back of the couch. It was a wide and long couch so there
wasn’t any problems about falling off or getting cramps. She moved the blanket
and draped it over him and tucked it behind her back. Jarod moved it so that it
was over her shoulder. She rested an arm on his chest and her head on his
shoulder. “Now isn’t this better?”
“Yes,
I was going to suggest something like this but I was afraid that you’d beat my
skull to a pulp like you always tell me you will.” She propped herself up on
an elbow and looked down at him.
“Am
I really that frightening?” She asked. He could see something in her eyes that
he hadn’t seen in a long time. She wasn’t poking fun at him she was just
playing.
“Sometimes.
But I can’t tell when your joking or not.” She nestled down against his
chest again.
“Don’t
worry. I usually don’t mean half the stuff I say.”
“Why
do you say it?” Jarod asked her gently.
“I’ll
tell you tomorrow.” She murmured as took a breath and relaxed.
“I
suppose it can wait.” He put his arm around her shoulders, resting his hand on
her hip. He had a smile of contentment as he fell into a dreamless sleep. Having
her next to him was keeping all of his demons that plague his sleep away.

- The
Cabin:
- 8a.m.
When
Jarod woke up he had a strange feeling. He smiled as he remembered. Parker was
next to him. She had her right leg wrapped around his right leg. Her left arm
was running between them and her fingers were linked with his from the hand that
was resting on her hip. Her right arm that she had across his chest last night
was now near his neck, her hand tucked behind his shoulder. *There’s nothing
threatening about her like this* Jarod thought. Suddenly her nails dug into his
hand and she started to whimper. “Shh, it’s OK, no one’s going to hurt you.”
He gently stroked her head. She started to quiet down. She nuzzled her face into
his neck, which she ended up kissing his neck. He smiled and held her tightly.
He decided to fake sleep for a little while so he could have her next to him
longer.
Parker
opened her eyes a few minutes later and smiled. She was still next to him and
for once she didn’t mind. She was warm and she actually felt safe. She slowly
sat up, propping herself on her elbow, looking down at him. He had his eyes
closed and he looked to be sleeping soundly. She moved the hand that was behind
his shoulder and gently stroked his face. He moved his head against her palm and
the hand that was resting on her hip, moved, sending a shiver up her spine.
She
bent her head down closer to his ear. “Jarod? You awake?” She murmured. No
answer. She gently blew in his ear. A small smile crept across his face.
“You’re awake.” She brushed her lips across his cheek as she spoke.
“OK,
I was awake, I was just seeing how far you’d go to get my attention.” He
opened his eyes and looked up at her.
“Oh,
I can do a lot to get someone’s attention. Especially if he fakes sleep.”
She purred softly.
“Care
to show me?” He closed his eyes again. The leg that was wrapped around him
moved and was now lying across his thighs, then putting her foot up underneath
his knee. He smiled again. She ran her fingers through his hair. “Anything
else?”
“Oh,
I’m only getting started.” She brushed her lips across his. He moved the arm
that was around her shoulders to her side and moved her on top of him, closing
his arms around her tightly as he deepened the kiss. She sat up, pulling him up
with her, locking her arms around his neck, scooting down his legs to sit on his
shins. He moved them out from under her, sitting one of his feet on the floor.
He started to kiss down her throat. She let her head loll back and groaned
softly.
He
ran his hand up her back to her neck, moving her head back down so he could have
access to her mouth. He went to kiss her but she moved her mouth away when
he’d get close. “Ah, come on Parker, play fair.” He murmured softly.
“I
never play fair.” She purred breathlessly.
“And
don’t I know it?” He said huskily. She moved her mouth closer to his and he
was ready to kiss her, but she took his bottom lip between her teeth and gently
tugged. She was slowly standing up, bringing him up by his lip. When he was
standing she let go of his lip and kissed him hungrily. He caught her when she
jumped into his arms, wrapping her legs around his waist, locking her ankles
behind his back. He started to walk clumsily towards the bedroom.
Just
when he was backing towards the bed she undid the grasp she around his waist and
slid down him, walking back with him. They broke of the kiss long enough to take
his shirt off. He fell back onto the bed, bringing her down on top of him. He
ran his hands under her jersey touching the soft skin of her back. She purring
began again.
She
started to kiss along his jaw then down onto his neck she gently bit his throat,
then soothing the area with her tongue. He closed his arms around her thin waist.
She
rested her forehead against his chin, breathing heavily. “Parker?” He kissed
her temple.
“We
can’t do this.” She rolled off him and walked over to the wall, sliding down
the wall and hung her head down. “I can’t keep toying with you. I’m only
hurting you.” Jarod got off the bed and knelt in front her.
“Do
you wanna talk?” He asked gently. She shook her head. “You know, it
doesn’t hurt that much. It’s just a little confusing. You show me the softer
side to you and then you threaten to blow my head off.”
“I’m
that way because of what Daddy tells me. Love kills more than hate. Hate is so
clean, but love, it just strings you along and then you end up hating. Just cut
out the pain and time and hate everyone and SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE.”
“But
you don’t believe that?” He asked gently. She shook her head, still keeping
her face lowered. “Thomas?”
“The
ONLY reason why I got hurt was because those bastards decided to interfere and
fuck up my life, yet again.” He moved closer to her. “Don’t, it’s not
fair on you.” He gently touched her knee.
“I
don’t mind. I understand now.” He lifted her head gently.
“Don’t.”
She pushed his hand away and stood up. He stood up and grabbed her hand, pulling
her back to him slowly. He wrapped his arms around her tightly.
“When
you’re away from me it hurts. When you’re near me it hurts. But when
you’re with me it never hurts. You’re different from the others. You’re
there when I need you. You don’t push me into saying things I don’t want to.
You listen to me. You love me. And to be loved by you makes everything in
this crazy world seem worth while.” He murmured to her softly.
“What?”
“I
just made it up.” He said not looking into her eyes. She moved her arms to
lock around his neck.
“When?”
“After
one of our conversations.”
“You’re
different from the others. You’re there when I need you. You don’t push me
into saying things I don’t want to. You listen to me. Sounds like us.” She
held the base of his neck to make him look at her. “You’re the only one that
knows me as well as I know myself.”
“Sometimes
I don’t know if it’s worth it.” She gently kissed his neck where the pulse
is. “What about your father?”
“He
can burn in hell. I’m gonna start doing what I want without looking for his
approval that I’m never gonna get.” She softly touched his lips with hers.
“You
don’t know how long I’ve wanted to hear you fight back.” He kissed her
softly.
“It’s
about time I did, don’t you think?” She whispered, brushing her lips over
his.
“Yeah.”
He slowly picked her up and carried her over to the bed. She knelt on the bed in
front of him. He slowly takes off her jersey and drops it on the floor. He
kisses her neck as the fall back on the bed softly. He moved the strap of her
bra to kiss her shoulder.
“You
know if this place is gonna get as cold as you say, we shouldn’t let this go
to far.”
“We’ll
be warm enough.” He brushes his lips over her collarbone.
Just
when they were getting comfortable, the lights go out. “This isn’t happening.”
His head drops against her shoulder, softly kissing her cooling skin.
“You’re
not having a very good day are you?” She asks as she runs her fingers through
his hair.
“I
better go get some candles set up around the place.” He went to get up but she
locked her arms around his neck and kissed him hungrily. She rolled them over
and looked down at him. “Dark is fine. We’ll get lights organised in the
morning.”
He
rested his hand on the back of her neck and pulled her down and kissed her
hungrily. “I can live with that.”
“Good.”
She rolled them back over and held him tightly, kissing him again.

- The
Cabin:
- 7a.m.
Jarod
woke up slowly. He saw Parker sleeping next to him. Her head was resting on his
shoulder, while her hand was resting on his heart. He smiled and gently stroked
her head. He wasn’t dreaming.
He
carefully lifted her head off his shoulder and moved to the side of the bed. She
stirred and wrapped her arms around a pillow, going back to sleep. He smiled and
got out of bed.
Parker
woke up about half an hour later. She got out of bed and went into the bathroom
to have a shower.
She
came back out dressed in the jersey. Jarod was sitting on the floor in front of
the fire, which was burning. She sat down behind him. “I thought you said that
we didn’t have a fire.” She said as she pulled him back against her, her
left curled up in front of her, her knee resting against his back with her right
leg ran along side of him.
“So
I lied.” He gently stroked her leg. He looked up at her. “I hope you don’t
mind.”
She
rested her chin on his shoulder. He gently kissed her cheek. “At least we
won’t freeze.”
He
could see the flames reflecting on her eyes. “You have the most beautiful eyes.”
He murmured.
She
turned her head to the side. “You have nice eyes as well.” She smiled. He
gently kissed her.
“What
are we gonna do?”
She
turned to look at the flames. Jarod leant back against her, resuming stroking
her leg. “I don’t know.”
“You
know, you could always come with me. I could use some company.”
“And
you need inside help. I would only slow you down. It’s best that I stay at The
Centre. Business as usual.”
“Does
this change anything?”
“Of
course. Instead of saying I’m gonna shoot you, I will. Especially if you
ignore ME for weeks on end.” She smiled, resting her cheek against his.
“I
won’t.”
“Good.
Then we don’t have a problem.”
“I
could keep an eye open for storms and malfunctioning elevators.”
“Better
not. Daddy would get nosy if I keep on failing to catch you when I have a
chance.”
“I’ve
got a friend that owes me, you can lie and say you stayed with her.”
“Her?”
“Now,
now, no need to get jealous. We’re just friends.” He smiled.
“Just
make sure it stays that way. Your mine.” She gently kisses his ear.
They
settled back and watched the flames dance and flicker. Both were feeling hope
for the future. Everything was going to be OK. They could feel it. “J?”
“Umm.”
He was content just to lie in her arms and not move.
“You
won’t let anything happen, will you?”
He
opened his eyes and looked at her. “Huh?”
“I
mean if anything goes wrong…”
“I
won’t leave you there. I’m only sorry I didn’t take you before.”
“I
wouldn’t have gone with you.” She said gently. “With me staying at The
Centre, you’ll be safer.” She whispered.
“Thank
you. But I PROMISE if I find out anything is gonna happen, even something SMALL,
I’m gonna come and get you and everyone else that I care about.”
“But
with everyone gone, they’ll be able to do whatever they want. They’re
careful now since they know they have people that dig into the Archives, but if
we go…”
“I’ll
expose everything on them and their twisted organisation. I’ve got some proof
and things tucked away somewhere, just in case.” He smiled. “But nothing you
need to know concerning Catherine. It’s just proof of what they did and who
they really are and some government officials that are part of it.”
She
nodded. “If that ever happens, what will happen to The Centre? If we got rid
of all the demons and opened it up, it could be quite useful.”
“We’d
run it.”
“But…”
“No
buts, just leave it that. I know what I’m doing. Just don’t think about
it.”
“But…”
He kissed her softly. “OK, no questions.”
“Good
girl.”
For
the rest of the day and night they sat there, embracing, thinking about what
their new life was going to be like. They both had their doubts and fears, but
since they knew they had each other, none of the rest really mattered.
The
Stormy Weather was finally calming and the smart ones that chose to sit out were
finally emerging. For some it was to see what would be left, for others it was
to see WHO was left.
Two
souls that were ripped apart all those years ago were bound together, tighter
than before.
The
End of Stormy Weather
Now
if you kill me over this Fic you’ll all have one nasty, hungry, unhappy, mean,
bad-tempered tiger on your hands. Did I mention hungry? My Tigress will miss her
Momma. You better give me feedback or I’ll be making people disappear or just
set my pet tiger loose on all of you. (Sweet smile) Feedback please <@:-)
