Tommy was sitting in the chair, while Parker was sitting on the corner of the desk. They were working on the computer. But it was going very slowly since they kept on getting distracted. Mr. Parker walked in with two sweepers following behind him. Parker stood up quickly, her hand reaching for her gun. "Relax Angel, it's only me."

"Daddy, don't do that." She released the gun.

"You're getting a little jumpy, aren't you Sweetheart?"

"Only when people storm into my office." She looks at the sweepers with an angry stare. "Who the Hell are they?"

"Sweepers."

"Thank you for answering the bleeding obvious. Why have you got two sweepers with you? Here? Now?"

He sat down in the chair in front of her desk while she sat on the front edge, in front of Tommy. "Since Thomas will be controlling your sweeper team with you, I thought you might like to have two new members. I knew you wouldn't allow him to have his own team."

"But I don't need any more sweepers. My team is enough."

"Now Angel, I'm doing this for you and Thomas. You can't have too much protection when this place is concerned and one particular person in it."

"Fine. Who are you?" she nodded then looked up at the sweepers who were standing silently behind Mr Parker.

"Tim." "Jake." They answered in unison.

"Fine, you both know Sam?" They nodded. "Go down and see him, he'll fill you in on what needs to be done."

"Yes, Miss Parker." They left.

"I see you've handled that now, so I'll go." He stood up and kissed her forehead. "I'll see you later Angel."

"Bye Daddy."

He stopped at the door. "How'd target practice go?" Mr Parker asked, smiling at her.

"Fine." Mr Parker nodded and left without another word. "I've got a bad feeling about this." Tommy got up and sat next to her.

"What do you mean?"

"Something's not right."

"Your father?" He asked gently.

"I don't know. Something's gonna happen. I don't know when or what. I've just got a feeling something's gonna happen."

He kissed her temple. "We've got your team around us, so they'll have to get through them first."

She smiled and nodded. "Yeah."

Tim ran into Harmon as he was walking down the corridor. "Harmon."

"What?" Harmon asked gruffly. None of Parker's original ST (sweeper team) liked these two new sweepers. They were a threat and Sam told all 7 of them to watch them and not to let them alone with Parker or Tommy.

"Mr. Parker instructed me to take over with protecting Mr. Gates."

"But Sam told me to watch him and he does what Miss Parker wants." Harmon told him and was ready to walk away until Tim spoke again.

"Mr. Parker has more authority than both Sam and Miss Parker put together. You follow his orders."

"I follow Miss Parker's orders." Harmon snarled at him.

"Do you want me to get Mr. Parker to tell you to step down?" Tim growled.

"Jeez no need to get shitty about it! I'm just following orders!"

"No, you're not!"

"Fine! But anything happens to him, it's gonna be on your head." Harmon walked away. Tim smiled and walked in the opposite direction.

"Now time to tell Miss Parker about the change."

TECH ROOM:
NEXT DAY:
11A.M.

Tommy was with Sydney and Broots, while Parker was up in her office going over papers. She sent him down here, since she was too busy to come herself. Tim came in. "Mr. Gates, Miss Parker wants you to go down to SL-7."

"Thank you, Tim." They left.

5 minutes later, Parker came in. "Where's Tommy?"

"You told Tim to take him down to SL-7." Sydney said.

"No, I didn't." Parker turned pale when it suddenly hit her. "Shit!" She pulled out her cell. "Sam get down to SL-7 now!" Parker ordered then ran out of the tech room. "I knew it!"

SL-7.

Tommy had his gun in his hand, hanging at his side as they walked along a corridor. "Where's Parker?"

"Down here." Tim stopped and turned around sharply with a gun in his hand.

"What the Hell?" Tommy was really confused about what was happening. *A sweeper holding a gun on you, ready to shoot you. Bad sweeper* He thought.

"Do you realise that you're the envy of every male employee here? They've all wanted to get into her bed." Tommy lifted his gun quickly.

"That's not a very wise thing to say! You're all revolting, idiotic morons and you make her skin crawl!" He growled.

"You can't use that. You haven't got the nerve to use that, you need your bed friend to show you how to use it!"

BANG! BANG!

Tommy fired the gun at the same time as someone behind him. Tim fell to the ground with half a head; the rest of it was spread on the wall behind him. "Tommy!" Parker ran over to him. "Baby, it's me." His eyes focused on her.

"I just shot a man." He lowered his head onto her shoulder.

"It's OK, I'm here now." She held him tightly as she gently stroked his back. Sam was standing close by. "Get someone to clean up that mess." She ordered.

"Yes, Miss Parker." Sam pulled out his cell.

"Tommy?" She lifted his head and looked into his eyes. They were glazing over. "Come on, we'll go back up to the office." She gave his hand a soft tug to pull him into gear.

THE CENTRE:
2P.M.

In her office, Parker's sweepers were all standing in a row. Sam was standing away from the others. "Who was meant to watch him? I know Sam set one of you."

"I was." Harmon answered. She stopped in front of him and slapped his face.

CRACK!

"Angel, he stopped when Tim told him to. He didn't know he lied about Mr. Parker's order."

"I knew Dr Death wouldn't stop!" She rubbed her stinging hand as she continued to pace.

"We couldn't have known he would do something like this." Tommy said gently.

"Outta my sight!" She ordered. The sweepers left quietly.

"See?" Sam asked Harmon.

"Yeah." He rubbed the side of his face where a bright red handprint was now visible.

Parker was pacing in front of Tommy. "Sweetie?" She stopped and looked up at him. "Come here."

She walked over to him slowly and wrapped her arms around his chest. "I thought I would be able to spare you so many of the demons that I've seen." She murmured as she rested her forehead against his, her eyes closed.

"When I came here with you, I knew that I would see a lot of things that I have never seen before. I killed a man. He made me angry and I don't get angry but he was talking about you and I just snapped." He gently stroked her face.

Mr. Parker came in, while they were standing like that. "Angel, Thomas, I'm so sorry."

She turned her head to the side to look at him. "I have my team around us for a reason." She snarled.

"I didn't know."

"How the fuck am I supposed to protect him when I've got the killer right next to him?" She growled angrily.

"Shh, it's all right." Tommy held her tighter.

"No, it isn't. It's his fault you had to kill someone! ALL INNOCENCE IS LOST!" She yelled at her father.

"It would have gone anyway. Innocence can't survive here Angel. Evil and hate are too strong for it to live." Mr. Parker said as he slowly walked over to her.

"But I didn't want it to go so soon. He had to kill someone today Daddy. He's only new and he's all ready fighting to stay alive. To kill to survive." She whimpered.

"That's the food-chain, Angel." He gently touches her shoulder.

"It sucks!" She hisses, burrowing against Tommy. He holds her tightly, resting his cheek on the top of her head.

"I know Honey, I'll leave you two alone." He left quietly.

"I'm sorry." She mumbled.

"Not your fault, so you don't have to apologise."

"But I feel like it's my fault."

"You shouldn't." He kisses her forehead.

PARKER MANOR:
2A.M.

Parker stretched out her hand, but Tommy wasn't there. She opened her eyes and lifted her head. She saw him standing at the window looking outside. She got out of bed, straightening the flannel shirt she was wearing. She touched his arm. "Baby, you're cold."

"Huh? Sorry."

She stood in front of him. "I don't like seeing you like this."

"I killed a man."

"You shouldn't have waited till I was asleep. You can talk to me about anything." He lowered his eyes to hers.

He gently touched her face as she rested her head into his hand. "I know."

"The fact that you just killed someone doesn't change the way I feel about you. You needed to kill him. He was going to kill you." She held his hand that was on her face. "Why don't you come back to bed?" He shook his head and looked back out the window. "What have they done to my boy?" She murmured as she touched his face. He closes his arms around her and holds her tightly, burying his face in her neck. "Welcome to my world."

"I guess I don't have what it takes." He murmurs against her neck.

"Shh, let me take care of it. I'll make most, if not all, of the pain go away." She gently stroked his back. When she felt him shiver, she smiled.

"I'm meant to protect you."

She lifted his head and held his face in her hands. "We protect each other." She gently kissed him. While Parker still had a hold of him, she turned him around and started to pull him back to the bed and made him sit down, then climbed onto the bed next to him. "Lie down." She gently pushed him down. He lied down on his back while she held the covers as she lay next to him, covering them both over while she locked her leg around his. She rested her head on his shoulder and draped her arm over his chest. He put his arms around her tightly.

He didn't realise how cold he was until he hugged her at the window. "I'm sorry I'm a bother."

"Shh." She gently stroked his face, neck and shoulder. "Don't think about it. Just think about sleep. Black dreamless, peaceful sleep."

"And a sweet angel next to me."

She sat up slightly and kissed him. "I love you and nothing you do will ever change that."

He gently touched her face with the back of his fingers. "I must have done something good in a past life to get you now."

She kissed him passionately. "Now go to sleep. I'm not going anywhere." She settled down on his chest.

"I love and worship you."

"You shouldn't, it isn't healthy." She laughed gently.

A few minutes later with her gentle touch he was sleeping again. "Sweet dreams my love." She murmured and fell asleep.
