PARKER MANOR:
A WEEK LATER:
7A.M.

Parker was standing in front of her cupboard in only sky blue underwear when Tommy comes and stands at the door. "I hope you're going to wear more than that."

She turned her head to the side and glared at him. "Why don't you go and have a shower? You don't want to be late on your first day in Hell."

"All right." He walked into the bathroom.

When he came back out in boxer shorts Parker was sitting on the bed putting on her thigh-high boots. When she stood up she was wearing a black tank top, small black shorts that were nearly non-existent and the boots.

He walked over and started to put on the dark blue shirt, dark blue tie and a black suit.

When Parker turned her back to him, he saw her holster at the small of her back. She put on a blood red, long leather coat.

When they were both ready it was 20 to 8. She walked over to him. "You should wear suits more often." She purred as she straightened his tie.

"If I'm coming to work with you, you'll be seeing me in nothing but suits." He put his hands on her hips.

"Good." She purred. "Because I've kinda confiscated your flannel shirts." She smiled, as she ran her hand down his chest flattening his tie.

"Well I better take them back, shouldn't I?"

"We'll see. Now we better get going." Parker said, stepping away from him and walking out of the bedroom.

"Yes, Almighty Huntress." He smiled as he followed her out of the bedroom.

THE CENTRE:
8A.M.

Parker stormed out of the elevator followed by a wave of blood red leather. Tommy looked at her out of the corner of his eye and smiled. He could have sworn he saw a little smile. They stopped at two smoked glass doors. "Time to see Daddy." She smiled and opened the doors, walking in.

"Angel! Thomas." Mr Parker walked round the desk and hugged her tightly. "Did you have any trouble?"

"No, when the guards saw him with me, they all backed away."

"Good. Now if you two would come over here I've got everything Thomas needs."

Tommy was starting to look a little nervous. "Don't worry Baby, nothing's gonna happen." She smiled warmly at him and held his hand.

Mr. Parker smiled at her. *At last, someone worthy of my little girl* He thought. "All right Thomas, I've got a Centre clearance card and a Centre issue weapon."

"Do I have to have the gun?"

"Well, it would be better if you did." Mr Parker told him. Parker walked over and took the gun out of the holster on her father's desk. She checked it, and then took the clip out, putting it into her jacket pocket. She held Tommy's hand and placed the gun in his palm.

"No bullets, it can't hurt anyone." He looked at the silver gun in his hand with her hand over the top of it. The gun was cold but her fingers were warm.

"OK."

She turned to her father. "I'll get him used to it." He nodded. "Take off your jacket so I can put the holster on you." She took the gun out of his hand and put it on the desk. He took off his jacket as she undid the buckle on the holster.

SYDNEY'S OFFICE:
SAME TIME.

"Syd, I've just heard we've got a new boss."

"Do you know who they are?"

"No, but rumor has it he's pretty chummy with Parker."

"Having a new boss can't be good. Check it out." Sydney and Broots walked down to the tech room.

"Having a new guy around isn't giving me a good feeling. Having Lyle wasn't good, so maybe this guy is just as bad." Broots said as he sat down in front of the computer.

"No one would be as bad as Lyle." Sydney said. "I want to know why he and Parker are so close." Sydney said leaning on the desk, looking over Broots' shoulder.

"The Mainframe isn't telling me anything. Just that it's someone Mr. Parker brought in. I've got a BAD feeling Sydney."

"Now if you two would wait until I got here, I would explain everything." Parker growled, stalking into the tech room.

"Parker, who is he?"

"You'll have to wait a little longer."

"Baby, it's done." Just then Tommy walked through the door and over to her.

"Thomas!" Sydney gasped. Broots looked like he was about to fall off his chair.

"You didn't tell them, did you?" Tommy looked at her, through narrowed eyes.

"No." She smiled warmly at him. "For once Mr. Know-it-all is speechless. Sydney, Broots, I'd like you to meet your new boss." Parker folded her arms in front of her, smiling at them evilly.

"But how? Why?" Sydney finally found his tongue after he swallowed it.

"Raines wants to get his greasy little paws on him so Daddy brought him in. Also he's going to help us catch Jarod." She walked over to the workstation. Tommy followed closely behind her.

"He's the reason I nearly lost my Angel, so now he has to learn." He wrapped his arms around her tightly.

"I know." She gently touched his face. "Any news on Wolf Gang Puke?"

"None."

"If either of you tell him that Tommy is working here, the amputee dwarves on SL-6 will be using you both as a 2 million piece jig-saw puzzle. Kapeche?"

"We won't, but won't he find out through the Mainframe?" Sydney asked.

"I'll be back in a minute." She moved out of Tommy's grasp. "Stay here and get to know each other." Parker smiled and ran out the door.

Tommy watched her disappear. "You care about her a lot." Sydney stated.

"You can't begin to imagine." He turned to face them. "So what do we do?"

"We track down leads on Jarod. I do anything Miss Parker, Mr. Lyle and now you, ask involving computers and information."

"Well, all I ask now is that you're patient with me."

"We will be. If we aren't, there'll be Hell to pay from Parker." Sydney nodded. "So how did Parker take the news that Mr. Parker wanted you to come work here?"

"Painfully. Her ulcer didn't handle it well."

"Is she getting use to the idea?" Broots asked cautiously.

"She seems to be. I think it's helping her to a small extent. She doesn't have to hide so much from me now."

"She cares for you a great deal. She isn't used to people loving her." Sydney told him.

"I know. But I'm proving to her slowly that I won't hurt her." He walked over and stood behind Broots. "But you two care about her as well."

"Yeah." They both nodded.

"Well, this is what I like to see." She walked over and stood next to Tommy closely. He put his arm around her, resting his hand on her hip. "Have you been behaving yourself?"

"Yes Ma'am." Tommy smiled and winked at her.

"Good. Now Broots, I want you to keep searching for Lab Rat. Any news, ring me. I'm going to show Tommy around."

"Yes, Miss Parker, but I don't think we'll hear from him for awhile." He said, turning back to the monitor.

"Why?"

"Jarod had an accident, while you were in the hospital, his plane crashed. He's OK now, but he still needs to heal." Sydney explained.

"And just when did you care to tell me?" She snarled angrily.

"I thought he would have rang you…"

"Tommy, what is it?" She could see the uncomfortable look on his face and she became alarmed.

"Jarod did ring after you got out of the hospital. I told him to leave you alone. I didn't know he was hurt. All I knew was that you were hurt and I wanted him to stay away from you." He said quietly.

"Don't worry Sweetie, you had no way of knowing. He'll ring here." She gently stroked his face. Parker turned an icy glare towards Sydney. "And when he does I want to be the first to know. The same with any clues he might send. All right?"

"Yes, Parker." She glared at him coldly.

"Come on Baby, time for orientation." She smiled and held his hand. They left.

"OK. What the Hell just happened? One minute Ice Queen and the next a side of Parker I never knew existed."

"I don't know."

"I mean search NOW Broots! Stop procrastinating!" She snarled standing in the doorway.

"Ek!" Broots yelped and started typing quickly.

"That's better." She started laughing as she left.

"Shit, I hate it when she does that." All Sydney could do was smile and try and control himself from laughing. "It's not funny. She has ears everywhere."

"Only when she's just outside the door. I heard her heels stop." He smiled.

"And you didn't tell me!" He yelped.

He thought a minute. "No." Sydney left.

"Is it 'National Pick On Broots' day and no one told me?" He mumbled as he set searches going.

THE CENTRE:
9:45A.M.

Parker and Tommy were in her office. They were leaning on the front of the desk. She was showing him different papers and documents on the hunt, when her sweeper team walked in, lead by Sam. "You sent for us Miss Parker."

"Sam, boys. I want you to meet Mr. Gates. He's been placed on the hunt with me. I want you to show him the same loyalty as you do with me. He's new and still learning so be patient with him. Understood?"

"Yes, Miss Parker. When will he start giving orders?" Sam asked.

"When he's settled in. Tommy, I want you to meet your sweeper team. Anything you want to know just ask Sam."

"OK." Tommy nods.

"Good, now I have to go down and see Broots for a minute. You all know the drill, first name and 'Sir' basis."

"But Parker, I don't wanna be called 'Sir'."

"You're getting called 'Sir' and that's final." She flashed him a warm smile and walked to the door. She stopped at the door and looked at the sweepers. "Where's Olson?"

"He's still coming." Sam replied.

"Fill him in when…Watch it!" She hissed when Olson crashes into her.

"I'm so sorry Miss Parker, but I…"

"Never mind that now, go meet your new boss. I'll deal with you later." She walked away.

"New boss?" He asked one of the sweepers, who nodded at Tommy. "Sir!" Olson stood to attention.

"Relax, Olson, isn't it?"

He stood at ease. "Yes Sir."

"Right, now what do you actually do?"

"We go with Miss Parker to Jarod's lair when we're requested and mainly follow her orders." Sam answered. "But I usually go solo with her, Dr. Green and Mr. Broots."

"How far would you go to protect her?"

"With our lives. Most people are afraid of her but we understand her. Sam's her personal guard dog." One of them said and received an elbow in the stomach because of it. "Umpft."

"This is annoying. Tell me your names and I might be able to follow you."

"Sam…"

"…Harmon…"

"…Hank…"

"…Peter…"

"…Terry…"

"…Steve…"

"…Olson…"

"…And Joe."

"Yeah, I got Sam and Olson, but I didn't know the rest of you." Tommy stepped up to them. They stood to attention. "First order, keep on protecting her. I won't be any good till I know how to use a gun and she'll be too busy watching my back, so you watch hers."

"Yes Sir!" They all answered.

Parker walked in. "So how are my boys? By the sound of that 'Yes Sir' you just gave your first order, care to enlighten me?"

"No." Tommy said as he put his arms around her. She snapped her fingers. The sweepers left and Sam shut the door behind him.

"Harmon."

"Yes Sam?" He stepped up next to Sam.

"Watch his butt. If anything happens to him it's gonna knock the Hell outta her."

"Right'o Sam." They walked away.

Parker pulled back from the kiss. "What?" He asked confused.

"Time for lesson one." She murmured.

"That would be?"

"Come on." She held his hand and led him out of the office.

The next thing he knew they were in a firing range outside. She took his gun out of the holster and held it out to him. "Parker…"

"Ah, ah, ah, you have to learn. You aren't safe here without knowing how to use this. They know you can't and that makes you a sitting duck."

"All right." He carefully took the gun out of her hand.

"It isn't armed and the safety's on." She pulled out her gun from the small of her back. "Watch what I do." She flicked off the safety off, pulled the slide back to load. She faced the targets and fired.

"I can't do this."

"You can. Just do what I did." He flicked off the safety and pulled the slide back. "Now aim and fire." He lifted the gun with a steady hand but froze. "All right." She put the safety on. She stood in front of him with his arms either side of her shoulders, holding the gun in front of them. Her hands were gentle when they moved his hands around the gun. "Relax. When you fire, you cushion the blow like this." She moved his wrists in an upward motion.

"All right."

"Safety off." He flicked it off with his thumb. "Now squeeze the trigger." When it fired, he jumped. She laughed gently. "You did just fine, Sweetie." She took the gun out of his hand and expertly disarmed it. He wrapped his arms around her and started to kiss her neck. "OK, that's enough of…Umm." She purred when he kissed just below her ear. She rested her head against his shoulder. "Someone could be watching."

"I don't care." He moved the collar of her jacket and gently kissed her shoulder and neck.

"Come on. We have to look as if we're working or we'll get in trouble."

"All right." He moved the jacket back and rested his chin on her shoulder.

"Now see what you can remember." She held up the gun, as he looked it over. Tommy pulled the clip out, put it back in, pulled the slide back, flicked off the safety and fired three rounds. "That's my boy." She smiled and patted the back of his neck.

"Can I have a reward?" He asked, keeping his arms around her, flicking on the safety and lowering the gun. She turned round and kissed him, locking her arms around his neck. He put his arms around her and held her tightly.

Mr. Parker was in his office, looking out the window. Lyle walked in and saw his father over near the window. "Anything interesting?" He asked as he walked over to his father, and looked out the window to see what had his father's attention.

"No."

Lyle saw Parker and Tommy down at the firing range. "Really?"

"Yes." Mr Parker snapped.

"OK then." Lyle nodded. *OK, I'm confused now*
