Three
weeks have passed and Parker is all better to go back to The Centre. Through the
past three weeks she has been getting very agitated because she wanted to get
back to The Centre. Jarod nearly had to tie her down, but he didn’t have to.
When he started to kiss her neck or her face she would calm down very quickly
and instead of snapping and snarling she would just purr.
After
Parker verbally killed her father, he hasn’t been around since. But Parker
would run into him in The Centre and he would have to be killed again. She knew
that he was keeping a low profile, but he can’t avoid her forever.
Sydney,
Lyle and Broots were coming round everyday to inform her on what was happening
at The Centre and to give Jarod a little break. They knew that she would be a
handful since she was getting better and wanting to get answers. When they’d
arrive Jarod always would disappear for a couple of hours and when he would come
back he would hold her on his lap.
If she
weren’t liable to run off, he would sleep a little through the day, but she
wouldn’t curl up next to him and sleep she would be more than likely bolt. It
would be a lot easier on Jarod if she would curl up next to him and sleep or
just keep him company. But she wouldn’t and he wasn’t up to trying it either.
He did sleep through the night, but not well. Firstly he had to calm Parker down
and gets her off to sleep and wait an hour to see if she would stay asleep. Then
he would doze off and the slightest movement would wake him up. With all of this
over the last three weeks, he was now completely exhausted.

- WEDNESDAY 8 NOVEMBER,
2000:
- PARKER MANOR:
- 7:40A.M.
Parker was
awake since 7a.m. When she got up to go and have a shower, breakfast and get
changed, Jarod stayed in bed. He didn’t sleep at all last night and the three
weeks has taken its toll, he’s too tired to get out of bed.
Parker got
dressed into a black leather mini skirt, a long dark blue leather coat, bright
red silk blouse and thigh high boots. Jarod was asleep all the time she was
getting dressed.
When she
was ready to leave she sat down on the bed next to him. "Jarod." She
said gently, stroking his face softly. He opened his eyes slowly. "I’m
off now." He moved his hand and started to rub her bare thigh. "You
don’t look well, you better stay in bed today." She felt his forehead,
but he didn’t have a temperature.
"Yeah."
He mumbled and started to go back to sleep.
"I’ll
lock the door and the machine will be on, so you won’t be bothered by the
phone." She said gently. "I’ll be back around 8." She kissed
his mouth. He deepened the kiss and pulled her closer. "I see you’re
awake now." She smiled, her hair was tickling his face. He brushed the hair
out of her face and looked into her eyes.
"Have
a good day."
"Are
you all right?" She asked him, running her hand across his face again.
"I’m
just tired." He whispered. "I’ll be fine tonight."
"OK."
She kissed him again. It was her fault that he was so tired and she was starting
to feel guilty. It must have shown in her eyes.
"Don’t
feel guilty. You were easier than some of my pretends. I actually got more sleep
that in some of them. In a couple of them they changed my whole sleeping pattern."
He smiled at her. She smiled back. "You go to work, I’ll be fine tonight."
"OK."
She kissed him again and walked to the door. She turned back to him. "How
do I look?"
"Gorgeous."
He smiled and closed his eyes again.

- THE CENTRE:
- 8:05A.M.
Parker
walked into Lyle’s office. He looked up and smiled at her. "You’re a
vision this morning." Lyle commented to her.
"Thanks,
you don’t look too bad. Where are the others?" She asked as he walked
over to her.
"I
don’t know. I saw Sydney earlier, but I haven’t seen Broots. He’s probably
in front of his computer." Lyle said as he held the door open for her.
On the way
down to the tech room everyone that was in the corridors all said ‘good
morning Miss Parker’ as she walked past. "Everyone’s missed you."
Lyle said as they walked into the tech room.
"How
nice." She growled and walked in to see if Broots was there. He wasn’t
sitting at his desk, but the computer was on. "If I have to hunt around for
him, I won’t be impressed." She turned around and walked to the door.
"Oh,
Parker." She turned back to face him. He walked up to her. "How’s
Jarod?" Lyle whispered.
"Fine,
he’s just a bit tired. I think he’s glad that I’m back here. But I don’t
know why he didn’t have a sleep through the day, it’s not like I would’ve
bolted." She smiled and turned to the door, just as Broots walked in. He
literally ran into her. "Nice to see you too." Her face was inches in
front of his. He quickly shuffled back.
"I…Ah…Umm,
sorry." He stuttered out nervously.
"Don’t
worry, but I wouldn’t have been impressed if I had to hunt around for you.
Where have you been?" She asked him as he scuttled over to his desk. Poor
Broots, he’s still intimidated by her glares.
"Up
with Sydney. I had some papers to show him about…Umm…Thomas." Broots
said nervously.
"What
papers?" She flew over to him and stood behind his chair.
"I’m
not sure if I should show you. Sydney said…" Broots stopped when Parker
grabbed his neck.
"I
don’t care what Sydney, show me those papers." She snarled dangerously.
Broots swallowed heavily and started to type at his keyboard. She could feel him
trembling. She let go of his neck. "Sorry Broots, I’ve just got a short
temper and I want to find out why Tommy was killed. I shouldn’t have lashed
out at you like that." She stepped back away from the desk. Lyle came up
next to her and touched her shoulder.
"I
know." Broots started to stop trembling. "I should show you them but
Sydney just told me it would be best not too." He opened up some documents.
"They’re on the screen or do you want me to print them out?"
"Where
are the ones that you printed out and took up to Syd?"
"He’s
still got them."
"OK,
print out the same ones that you gave Sydney." She instructed in a gentle
tone. Broots printed them out and handed them to her. She took them and started
to read. "BITCH!" She growled. "Who ordered it?"
"I…Ah,
I can’t find that yet. I’m still looking. I’ll come straight to you when I
find something." Broots said afraid, her eyes were on fire and she looked
like she was just about to rip someone’s head off.
"Good."
She ran out of the tech room, checking her gun.
"What
did it say?" Lyle asked.
"Brigitte
killed Thomas. I don’t know who authorised it yet. But I have a feeling it
might have been you’re father."
"Wouldn’t
be surprised. That would explain a lot of his weird behavior." Lyle walked
out to look for her before she blew Brigitte away.

- PARKER MANOR:
- 8:20P.M.
Parker
just got home in a really bad mood. She was looking for Brigitte all day and she
was nowhere to be found. She found her father unless it was her father that
found her. Whichever way it was Parker verbally killed Mr Parker again. She
asked him where Brigitte was and he said he didn’t know. So she had to kill
him again for hiding her. After she had finished with her father he wouldn’t
come out of his office for the rest of the day until he was sure that she had
gone home.
Walking
through her house Jarod was nowhere to be seen. She walked upstairs and into her
bedroom. He was still in bed asleep. She slipped her coat and boots off and
curled up next to him. She wanted to be near him. She didn’t care if he was
asleep it wouldn’t stop her curling up next to him and keeping him company
till he woke up. She wasn’t sleepy, she could use this time to think about
what she was going to do to Brigitte.
Jarod woke
up when he felt the bed shift under him, a warm body curling up next to him then
a weight on his chest. When he opened his eyes he saw her, lying next to him.
"Hey." He whispered. She lifted her head off his chest and looked at
him.
"Did
I wake you?" She got off his chest and lay on her side watching him.
"No.
What’s the time?" He gently stroked her side.
"A
little after 20 past 8." He pulled her on top of him, holding her close,
resting his hands on her lower back. He took her gun out and put it on the
nightstand, the holster was still connected to the belt. "You feeling all
right now?" She propped herself up on crossed arms. They were crossed on
the top of his ribcage, just under his collarbone.
"Yeah,
how’d it go today?" He asked as he started to rub her back.
"I
know who killed Tommy. Broots found it and he went and showed Sydney who told
Broots not to tell me." She rested her forehead against his chin.
"He
was only trying to protect you." He kissed her forehead, then her cheek.
She lifted her head. He kissed the corner of her mouth, then her chin. She moved
her mouth to meet his. He kissed her gently, but she deepened the kiss and put
her hands behind his shoulders. He rolled them over so he was on top of her and
started to kiss her again. She put her hand below his neck and pushed his head
away. He looked at her confused, his brown eyes smoldering. She ran her fingers
through his hair and gently touched his face. "What’s wrong?" He
asked her, putting his hands either side of her arms on the bed and holding
himself up high enough to look down onto her. There was a look in her eyes he
hadn’t seen before. Even if she denied it, there was something wrong. He got
off her and lay beside her on his side, watching her. "What’s wrong with
my little girl." He gently touched her face. She rolled onto her side and
looked at him. Her right hand was supporting her head, while the left was
resting on her hip. She ran her left hand long his chest, running along the side
then up onto the ball of his shoulder. She moved closer and rested her head
against his chest. She could hear the steady rhythm of his heart. She kissed
where her head was resting.
"Nothing."
She fell onto her back, turning her head to the side and looked at him. He was
worried. "Nothing’s wrong, I’m just tired I think." She said to
him.
He looked
into her eyes. They were like watching a flame, never still, always changing,
always moving. He leant his head down nearer to hers. "Are you sure?"
He nuzzled into her neck.
"Yeah."
She captured his lips in a kiss that burned like fire. She wouldn’t kiss him
like that unless she was absolutely fine. She’s right, there was nothing wrong.
But how can you even begin to read her eyes, they’re ice-blue flames. He
pulled her on top of him and held her tightly. She purred when he was pulling
her shirt out from her skirt.
She
started to kiss his neck along his jaw to his ear. She took the earlobe between
her teeth gently and tugged. "Hey." He stopped undoing the buttons on
her shirt and looked at her. Her eyes were playful.
"Why
don’t you teach me a lesson?" She purred and rolled them over so that he
was on top, pinning her down.
"Why
don’t I?" He asked huskily and continued unbuttoning her shirt. She
started to purr again when he lifted her up to slip the shirt off her shoulders.
Gently kissing her neck. She let her head back and closed her eyes. He started
to kiss down her throat and onto her chest, kissing just above the line of her
bra, leaving a trail of fire as he kissed her lower.
"You
shouldn’t worry about me so much." She purred as she lifted her head and
looked into his eyes.
"I
know, but I just love you so much." He kissed her lips hungrily as they
fell back.

- THURSDAY 9 NOVEMBER,
2000:
- THE CENTRE:
- GARAGE:
- 9:05A.M.
Parker was
able to corner Brigitte down behind the cars. They both had their guns drawn and
aiming at each other. "I knew it wouldn’t take you long to figure it
out." She sniggered at her.
"I’m
smarter than I look." She smiled at her dangerously.
"Oh,
that reminds me, how’s the new man in your life?" Brigitte asked her.
"Why
the Hell should I do anything apart from kill you? Let alone tell you about him."
She growled.
"I’m
just saying I would protect him better than you did with Thomas. We’ll take
him away just as easy, maybe easier." She laughed.
"That
I doubt. You won’t be doing anything apart from talking with the man
downstairs." She flicked off the safety. "G’ Bye Bitch." She
shot her in the head. She fell like a ton of bricks, her gun discharging as she
fell. The stray bullet skimmed along Parker’s arm. "FUCK!" She held
her arm, wincing. "See you in Hell." She walked over to the elevator
and got in. When the doors closed she looked at her arm. By the look of the
amount of blood it was only a flesh wound.
On her way
down to Sydney’s office, there were sweepers running along the corridor
towards the elevator and the stairs. When she walked into his office he just put
the phone down. "Brigitte’s been killed." He said as he stood up.
"I
know." Her hand fell away from her arm showing the blood.
"My
God! Parker, what happened?" He rushed over to her.
"There
was a little argument. I won." She smiled and winced as Sydney was looking
at her arm. "Don’t fuss, it’s just a flesh wound, no biggy." She
snarled.
"Take
you’re jacket off. I want to see the wound, just to make sure that’s all."
Sydney stepped away from her as Broots came running in.
"Did
you hear?" Broots asked out of breath. Parker’s right arm was doing all
the work to get her coat off. "Are you all right Miss Parker?"
"Just
fine. Ow." She started to make a growling noise in her throat. Broots’
mouth dropped open in shock.
"Now
let me have a look." Sydney walked over to her and looked at her arm. The
bullet just scratched her arm as it flew past. She watched as he moved her arm
around and looked at the wound.
"OW!"
When he started to touch an area that was sore as Hell she let him know. She
slapped his hand angrily and backed away from him, making a growling noise.
"OK,
OK, sorry, just let me look." He said gently.
"NO!"
She snarled.
"Take
it easy. Will you just let me wrap it up? You’re bleeding all over the place."
He pointed to her arm. Sure enough there was blood running down her arm and
dripping onto the floor.
"No,
get someone who knows what they’re doing." She applied pressure onto the
wound and winced. Sydney walked over to the desk and picked up the phone and
dialed the number for the Infirmary. "Yes, this is Dr Green send someone up
to my office, I have someone that has a flesh wound to their left upper arm and
needs treatment…Thank you."
"Why
did you say ‘someone’?" She snarled in pain.
"If I
said ‘Miss Parker’, then no one would come up. Knowing that you’d kill
them with one false move."
"How
can I with only one functioning arm?" She snarled again.
"You’d
find a way." Sydney smiled at her.
* ~ * ~ *
~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *
The person
who came up from the Infirmary was a man. Young, good looking but nothing
compared to Jarod. He injected a pain killed around the wound before he dressed
it. She didn’t kick up a stink through any of it apart from the needle. She
just sat there and watched what he was doing and obeyed when he said ‘hold
this’ or ‘press that down’.
Sydney and
Broots were quite surprise that she would be so cooperative. But they put it
down to something that was in the injection that was making her a bit off. The
man, whose name was Mitch, instructions after he had finished were to go home
and rest the arm for at least a week and any pain take some Aspirin or something
stronger. Then he left.
Parker
stood up and walked over to get her jacket. She threaded her left arm through
first then her right, rolling her shoulders gently to get the coat of properly.
"I’m going home." She announced walking to the door.
"Hang
on Parker." Sydney walked over to her. "I don’t think you should
drive."
"Why
not?" She snarled.
"Those
drugs are affecting you and you can’t drive with your arm. I’ll drive you."
"I
don’t think you should. You’ve got two heads." She smiled and passed
out. Sydney caught her as fell and held her back up, avoiding her wounded arm.
"Broots,
get Lyle to met me down in the garage. We’re taking her home." Sydney
picked her up and carried her down to the elevator.

- PARKER MANOR:
- 10:30A.M.
Sydney and
Parker just pulled up outside in her BMW. Lyle and Broots were following in his
car. Two black convertible BMWs sitting outside at 10 in the morning attracted
Jarod’s attention. He stood next at the door and watched, but relaxed when he
saw only Lyle, Broots and Sydney. *What are they doing back here?* He thought
and opened the door. "What’s wrong?" He asked when he saw Parker in
the car. He didn’t see the blood till he was right next to the car. "What
happened?" He snarled as he opened the door and checked her pulse. It was
erratic.
"She
killed Brigitte and the a bullet from her gun hit Parker. It’s only a flesh
wound. Someone’s already seen to it." Sydney said as Jarod lifted her out
of the car.
"Do
you know how much blood she’s lost?" Jarod asked as they got into the
house. He sat her on the couch and gently took off her jacket.
"No,
but I don’t think it was much. She’s passed out after she had the injection."
Sydney said to the worried Jarod.
"Do
you know what was in the injection?" He asked as unwrapped her arm.
"No.
I think it was just a pain killer or a sedative."
"Sedative
would explain why she’s asleep. But also some pain killers can make her sleepy."
He looked at her wound. Gently moving her arm around. She started to come round.
"Don’t
touch my arm!" She snarled at him.
"Easy
Baby, just let me have a look." Jarod continued examining her arm.
"Don’t."
She whimpered and pulled her it across her stomach, nursing her wounded arm. She
looked him in the eye. "Don’t touch it."
"Sorry,
but I have to." He made her sit up. "I won’t hurt you’re arm, just
let me look at it." He said and looked her in the eye. She reluctantly gave
him back her arm and watched him quietly.
Jarod
looked at it and wrapped it back up in a clean dressing. "You’ll be OK,
but you won’t be able to use you’re arm for a while."
"Brilliant
observation Genius!" She said sarcastically.
"OK,
OK, no need to take that tone with me thank you." He gently touched her
face. Her eyes softened and she rested her head against his hand. "Sydney,
you can back to work if you want, she’s going to be asleep soon." He said
gently as she started to relax.
"All
right, will she be OK now?" Sydney asked as he walked to the door.
"Yeah,
she’s falling asleep now." He said gently as he continued to touch her
face. "It was only a scratch, it’ll be fine in a couple of days, but she
won’t be able to do much with her arm."
"Good,
I was worried. There was a lot of blood when she came up to my office."
Sydney said quietly as she started to fall against his shoulder.
"There
usually is, but nothing major was hit." He wrapped his arms around her
tightly.
"I’ll
come back later tonight." Lyle said as he walked to the door.
"OK."
He went to lie her down but she didn’t want that. She groaned and tightened
her arm around his neck while the wounded arm was resting in her lap.
"Don’t
get up, we’ll see ourselves out." Sydney walked over to the door, with
Broots following him. He nodded and held her tightly, minding her wound.
"I’ll
ring you if there’s any change." He said softly since she was sleeping
against his shoulder. Sydney and Lyle nodded. Everyone left.
She
started to stir against him. "I need…To find…Ordered Tommy…Murder."
She whispered tiredly.
"OK,
but right now you can sleep." Jarod lifted her into his arms and carried
her upstairs. He laid down with her. She was nursing her wounded arm on her
stomach. He was gently stroking her fingers.
"I
killed her." She whispered and went to hold his hand but it hurt and she
started to whimper.
"Shh."
He pulled her closer to him. "You don’t need to hold my hand. I’ll just
hold you and stroke your fingers. You go to sleep." He kissed her forehead.
"I
killed for him." She moved her head closer to his chest. "I’d kill
for you."
"I’d
kill for you too. Now you need to rest." He kissed her forehead again.
"I
loved him." She whispered.
"I
know."
"And
I…" She fell asleep.

- MONDAY 13 NOVEMBER 2000:
- THE CENTRE:
- BROOTS HOLE:
- 9:30A.M.
Broots had
found another file and he thought that she should read it. The file revealed who
Wolff is. She walked into the tech room and her left arm was hanging weakly at
her side.
"What
do you want?"
"Ah,
I found out who Wolff is."
"Who?"
She demanded.
"You
won’t like it."
"WHO?"
Broots
swallowed heavily. "Mr Parker."
"You’re
lying! Daddy wouldn’t…He couldn’t…He…He…He’s dead!" She
snarled.
"Here’s
the proof." Broots said quietly. She calmed down and looked over his
shoulder. Sure enough, it proved that Mr Parker ordered the killing of Thomas.
But what it didn’t say is why Tommy was killed.
She gently
patted Broots’ shoulder. "Thank you."
"Where
are you going?" Broots asked when she started to walk out the door. She
turned back and looked at him.
"Pay
a visit to Daddy." She snarled and walked away. Broots didn’t need to ask
what she was going to do. He picked up the phone and dialed Sydney’s number.
"This
is Sydney."
"Syd,
Parker’s going to kill her father."
"Are
you sure?"
"No.
When she found out Brigitte killed Thomas she killed her. She has just
discovered that Mr Parker ordered it. No I don’t think she’s going to kill
him." He answered sarcastically.
"OK,
point taken. But didn’t I tell you not to tell her anything?" Sydney
asked him.
"Yes,
but if Parker gives an order I follow it. Especially when it concerns the murder
of Thomas. You try and stand up to her on THAT subject."
"OK,
I’ll see what I can do." Sydney hung up.
"You’re
going to be too late." Broots said and put the phone down, shaking his head.

MR
PARKER’S OFFICE.
Parker
walked in and she didn’t seem any different. Mr Parker looked up at her and
smiled. "Hello Honey."
"Hello
Daddy." She said sweetly, sitting down in the chair in front of his desk.
He was
shocked. She was been nice. "What can I do for my princess?" He sat
back in his chair and watched her.
"An
answer to a SIMPLE question." She smiled at him.
"Anything
for my princess, what’s the question?"
All
kindness went out of her eyes but the sweet as sugar tone remained. "Why
did you order Tommy to be killed?"
"But
I didn’t order him to be killed." Mr Parker knew why she was here now.
The game was up unless he could cover his arse. Not likely.
"Come,
come. You don’t need to lie about it anymore. I have the papers to prove it.
Broots found them. You should really cover your tracks more when you have
someone dear to me killed. But don’t think you’re going to be the only one
dying today, I have one more visit to pay after this. Now tell me, why did you
kill him?" She said calmly.
"But
I…"
"The
more you lie to me the quicker I’ll finish this. Do you want to die sooner?"
"No."
"Then
tell me what I want to know. And don’t fuck around with the truth, cause I
will find the papers to prove it." She took out the gun. "Now so I
don’t have to make you suffer, since you so kindly killed him quickly I’ll
do the same to you. Now when you tell me a lie I will put one piece of my gun
together and when you’ve told me all you know, I will kill you." She
pulled her gun to pieces and sat them in her lap. "Now give orders that you
don’t want to be disturbed."
Mr Parker
pressed the button to the intercom. "I don’t want to be disturbed.
Everything can wait till my daughter has finished speaking to me."
"Yes
Mr Parker." He sat back in his chair
"Very
good. Now, why did you have Tommy killed?"
"The
Triumvirate ordered it. I just carried it out."
She put
the barrel of the gun back on. CLICK-SNAP. "Wrong. There is no mention of
Matumbo. You ordered it."
"OK.
I ordered Brigitte to kill him."
"Why?"
"Because
he was getting too close." She put the clip back in. SNAP. "OK! I
didn’t want you to leave because Matumbo didn’t want you to leave. He said
that if you left that you were both to be killed. I sacrificed Thomas to save
you."
"Why?"
"I
don’t know why! He wouldn’t tell me, I asked but he said it was need to know
and I didn’t need to know." Mr Parker started to tremble. She sat there
and looked at him for a minute. He seemed to be telling the truth.
"Thank
you." She stood up and put her gun back together. "Now say
goodnight." She aimed at his heart.
"Please
Honey, don’t do this." He pleaded.
"Did
Tommy have a choice? No! Why should you?" She snarled at him and flicked
off the safety.
"But
Honey, I saved you’re life."
"I’d
rather be dead than live without him. You should have killed us. TOGETHER."
She pulled the trigger. Mr Parker flinched and fell forward. "At least you
can’t hurt me again." She snarled and walked out the door and down to pay
a visit to Raines.
When
Sydney got to Mr Parker’s office with Broots. Parker was nowhere to be seen.
He saw Mr Parker leaning on his desk limply. "We’re too late."
Sydney said sadly.
"You
didn’t seem to keen to get up here and stop her." Broots told him.
"No."
"Will
she be killing anyone else?"
"Yes,
she’s in the right state of mind. She’ll be going after Raines."
"Are
we going to stop her?" Broots exclaimed.
"Yeah.
In about four minutes." Sydney walked up to the desk and picked up the
phone. "Yes, a clean up crew is required in Mr Parker’s office."
They left and walked slowly down to Raines’ office.
When they
got there Raines was leaning back in his chair with blood trickling down his
face. Broots wasn’t feeling to well, seeing the sight of blood. Mr Parker
didn’t show any blood because he was leaning against the wound but seeing
Raines there bleeding and dead sent a shiver down his spine. "Is that
everyone she’ll kill?" Broots said in a small voice.
"Yes,
we better go find her." Sydney left.

They found
her in her office, sitting back in her chair with papers in her lap, resting her
crossed feet on the desk. "Are you all right Parker?" Sydney asked her
gently.
"Yeah,
why shouldn’t I be?" She looked up at him. "Nothing could be
better." She smiled warmly.
"OK
Parker, cut the act, how do you feel?" Sydney was a little taken back by
her smiling at him.
"I’m
not putting on ANY act. I AM FINE." She said slowly, like she was speaking
to someone with brain damage.
"You
do realise you just killed your father?" He asked her gently.
"Yes
I do realise I just killed my father and you’re forgetting Raines." She
snarled at him.
Sydney
looked into her eyes. She was hiding something. Behind all those shields there
was something that wasn’t sitting right. "You’re hiding
something." He saw a little bit of shield crumble away and saw pain, then
it was gone as fast as it showed.
"I am
not!"
"You’re
hurting. I can see it in you’re eyes and just now you’re eyes flashed and
showed it more." Sydney told her gently. There it was again. The same
flash.
"I
don’t know what the Hell you’re talking about! Have you been inhaling
something?" She snapped back. "Stop reading me like I was a
book."
"But
you’re eyes are the windows to your soul."
"I
have no soul!" She snarled at him.
"Yes
you do."
"You
are really starting to get under my skin!" She stood up and glared at him.
He didn’t flinch, he was reading her eyes again. "Will you stop that!
I’m not hiding anything." She sat back down. She was defeated. He won the
battle but not the war as far as she’s concerned.
"Broots,
go get Lyle." Broots left. "You just need someone to tell you that you
have a soul. And to tell what’s on you’re mind."
"What
is you’re game? I don’t really care that I just killed my father. I
couldn’t care less. He had it coming." She said coldly. She meant it, so
it had to be something else. It wouldn’t be about killing Raines, she hated
him twice as much as her father. No, it was something else.
"I’m
not playing any game. I just want to know what is wrong." Sydney said and
sat down in front of her desk.
"Nothing
is wrong!" She snarled, but eyes were showing pain again.
"Come
on Parker, you know that the shields don’t work with me, I can see straight
through you. I know all your tricks."
"Why
can’t you see that I don’t want to tell you?" She growled at him, all
shields down, her eyes looked like she was about to cry.
"Anything
I can help with?"
"Yes."
"What?"
"Stop
asking questions. I can deal with it myself!" She turned her chair round
and looked out the window. Broots and Lyle came in. Lyle felt how cold the
temperature was between them and took control.
"What’s
wrong with my Sis?" He asked as he walked up the desk.
"Nothing,
I’ve been trying to tell Sydney that but he wouldn’t believe me. I think I
should know if there was and is anything wrong." She snarled and spun round
in the chair and looked at him. Lyle was reading her eyes as well. But he does
it discreetly. He looks over her whole face, but always going back to her eyes.
"OK,
stopping lying. What’s wrong?" Lyle said gently.
"Jesus…"
She shook her head. "Why won’t you lot just leave me alone?" She
snarled and spun round. Lyle looked at Sydney and nodded to the door. Sydney and
Broots left.
Lyle
walked over and sat on the corner of her desk. He turned the chair round so that
she was looking at him. "Come on, what’s wrong?" He gently touched
her face. She shook her head. "There is something wrong. If you keep it to
yourself you’ll just end up getting sick again. It’ll just be between us, I
won’t tell Syd." She looked up at him. All shields were gone all that
remained was pain, hurt and suffering. "Has Jarod done anything?"
"No."
"Have
I done anything?"
"No."
"Sydney?
Broots?"
"No,
no one has done anything. I just…" Tears started to build up her eyes.
"What?"
Lyle took her hand and held it.
"I
don’t know what’s wrong. I killed Daddy because he killed Tommy, but I
don’t know why he was killed. I thought killing Daddy would stop it from
hurting, it just made it worse." She started to cry.
"Shh,
come here." Lyle made her stand up and he hugged her tightly. "How
about if I help you look for answers? We wouldn’t have to tell anyone, it
could be just our little secret."
She
nodded. "But I don’t know what Matumbo will do to me about killing Daddy.
That’s what scares me the most, I don’t know what he’ll do to me."
She rested her head against his shoulder.
"He
won’t do anything. Dad’s dead so I’m in charge, I’ll protect you from
him and I’d do a better job that Dad did. You know we gotta stick together if
we’re going to survive."
"Promise?"
He pushed
her away gently to look in here eyes. He placed a gentle hand on her face.
"Would I lie to my little Sis? Would I hurt my little Sis?"
"No."
She shook her head and smiled.
"There
that’s better. You OK now?"
"Yeah."
"No
more little problems that you need your brother to take away?"
"No."
"Good,
now if you have any more problems my door is open, but to you only." He
smiled at her.
"OK."

- THE CENTRE:
- MR PARKER’S OFFICE:
- THE NEXT DAY:
- 9:00A.M.
Lyle and
Parker just walked into their deceased father’s office. Matumbo was sitting at
the desk. "Thank you for coming on such short notice, please have a
seat." Lyle and Parker sat down. "I have two things to discuss with
you, but first things first. Mr Lyle, with you father’s sudden elimination, it
has been put forward that you will take control of The Centre."
"I
wouldn’t have it any other way. Now since you want to keep me happy cause as
you know, when I’m unhappy I’m very dangerous I want one thing from
you."
"And
what would that be?" Matumbo asked.
"That
you and your group leave my sister alone. I know she killed our father, but now
I’m in charge she isn’t to be touched!" Lyle snarled at him.
"I
wouldn’t dream of doing anything to your sister." Matumbo sat back in the
chair. "Since you have put forward how you feel about Miss Parker, I’ll
forget the second item I needed to discuss with you. You can leave." Lyle
and Parker stood up and walked out the door.
"I
thought he at least would have said something to me about killing Daddy."
She said to Lyle confused.
"That’s
what the second item was but after I said that if anything happened to you I
wouldn’t be pleased, he decided to let it go. We know you killed Dad so he
just left it at that." He placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "I did
say I’m going to take care of you now, didn’t I?"
"Yeah,
but I’m just used to people saying that and then doing nothing. I’ve learnt
not to believe them."
"Well
you’ll just have to forget that. Jarod and I are going to protect you. So
don’t forget." He smiled at her.
"I
won’t."
"Good,
now let’s go and get everything sorted out. You’re going to help me run The
Centre." They walked down the corridor.

EPILOGUE
The Centre
is running better now that Parker and Lyle are in charge. No more stealing kids
away from their families or cloning. Parker and Lyle are doing orthodox and
legal things at The Centre just like it was before things went bad.
Jarod
returned on his own choice and does good SIMS. He has his family back. He went
to see them for a month, but returned back to Blue Cove because he was getting
homesick and missing Parker. He finally worked up the nerve to propose to
Parker. They are going to be married in April.
Parker is
still haunted by what happened to Tommy and she has been looking all the time
for some reason for why he was killed, but she hasn’t found anything. Looking
in her father’s files she wasn’t able to find why. She even went as far as
to ask Matumbo why he was killed, but he just said ‘Mr Parker had reasons but
he never told anyone’. She was going mad. It seemed to be just another
senseless death caused by The Centre but Parker was convinced there was more to
it than that and Matumbo was hiding something.
Sydney and
Broots got promotions into a higher level of The Centre. Broots is in a higher
and fire position with techies, while Sydney is head of his area.
The End of
Guardian Angel Series.
Whatcha
think? Good? Bad? Should I steal Miss Parker’s gun and shoot myself?
Umm...Maybe not. You know the drill. Gimme, gimme, gimme feedback, I need it to
survive.
