In the next morning, Miss Parker got up earlier than the
usual, because she spent all night thinking about her father and the fact that
she missed Jarod. After all, maybe Raines was right. Maybe in her future, Jarod
should be included.
When she stoped in Kate's bedroom
door, she realized who
like she was in having a daughter like her. She was the best daughter she could
have. Sometimes, she thought how she could have a daughter like Kate even with
all the hate inside her. But then she would think about her mother and all the
doubts would go away.
While she was getting ready, the idea of visiting her
father never left her mind, so she called to The Centre and told them to get the
jet ready for when she got there, and woke up Kate.
"Let's go meet your
grandfather!"
"But I already know him!" Kate
grumbled.
"What?"
"I already know Major Charles."
"No, I'm talking about Ben
Miller."
"Oh! You could have said
so. My third grandfather."
"Excuse me?"
"You know! Mr. Parker, Major Charles and Ben
Miller."
"Funny! Now get yourself
ready. Jet's waiting."
Shortly after that, both were heading to
Maine. They
hadn't spoke since the arrival to the jet, because they both knew that this was
going to affect their lifes and there was no turning back. There were too many
doubts and only one certain: Ben Miller was Miss Parker's father and Kate's
grandfather.
