At The Centre, Miss Parker,
Sydney and Broots are looking at some pictures that someone took of them. Jarod
calls Miss Parker. He was the one who sent them those pictures, that are only
evidencing Miss Parker. Jarod says that he wants to help her, as well as her
father. Miss Parker received an e-mail from her father saying that she mustn't
trust no one and that he has an hit on him by someone at The Centre. This is
worrying her very much. Miss Parker's conclusion is that someone must have been
following her in hopes that she would lead him to her father.
In the mountains, a man goes to
put his trash outside, when he finds the previous trash revolved. When he points
his flashlight to the trash, he finds something strange.
Jarod is learning how to fish
with a hook seller, when the towns starts getting agitated. Jarod goes to
see what's happening and finds a wild child being taken by the police. When the
child is taken, he remembers what he felt when he was dragged to The Centre. The girl is
taken to an institute and given to the best specialists. She tried to ran through
a glass door and is now unconscious. While they cut her hair, Jarod tells them
that she doesn't like to be touched and that they shouldn't be treating her the
way they are.
At The Centre, Miss Parker sees
Lyle talking to Mr. Cox. Broots says that the pictures were sent to Mutumbo and
that Mr. Cox, with the code name "Owl", has taken them. Then, he says
that there is nothing about him (not even an office) and that one of his
"friends" (why is it that every person that Broots knows at The Centre
and some disorder?) said that he has been receiving surgery instruments.
The girl is put in a sterilized
room and, despite the fact that she should be sedated, the doctors won't allow
that. They are only interested in studying her behavior and they have only 36
hours to do so. When they leave, Jarod speaks to another doctors, Ann, that is
also disturbed by the way they are treating the child. During a press
conference, one of the reporters approaches Jarod and asks him if she can take
photos, but Dr. Bennet shows up and tells her that Jarod is not allowed to do
so. Meanwhile, the girls disappears and Bennet is intending to use a tranquilizer,
similar to one used in animals. Jarod is against it. Ann arrives and joins Jarod
in the search for the child. Outside, Jarod finds her in a tree and, then gives
the girl her doll. When he slips form the tree, she laughs. She is taken to the
same room, but now it is filled with plants, which makes her more calm. Bennet
and Wolverton arrive and are against what is going on, but Jarod ignores them
and says that she should have a name. They cut Jarod off, but he doesn't matter
and informs that she would be called Violet. Meanwhile, she started to make some
sounds that are similar to "Dada and Momma", but one of the doctors
ignores that. Shortly after, Violet starts having convulsions.
She is taken to the hospital and
is sleeping on the floor. Violet only got a cold, but because she didn't have
any defenses against the virus, it worsened. Jarod realizes that it was the doll
that transported the virus and that someone planted them there, with the purpose
of not allowing him to know more about the girl's origin. Jarod is taking her
out of there and asks for Ann's help. She's not giving it to him. When Jarod is
with Violet in his jeep, Ann shows up and decides to help him. She had a son and
he died. Now, she has some difficulties in getting attached again.
Miss Parker and Broots follow
Mr. Cox. He gets off his car and takes pictures to a dead animal in the middle
of the road. Then, he picks it up and puts it in his truck.
Jarod stops the jeep, when he
thinks he reached the place where Violet lived. She starts to run and Jarod and
Ann follow her to a river. Where she was living, they find several things she
made and a picture of her parents holding her. Violet starts to run again, but
stops in front of two skulls, to which she is addressing as "Dada and
Momma". They are near a plain wreckage, and because of that, they realized
that Violet was the only survivor of the accident. Back to her cavern, Jarod
discovers a camera and things about Violet, what makes him think that someone
has been watching her for over 10 years.
In Miss Parker's office, Broots
comes in wearing a suit. He says that he was at a funeral with Cox. He goes on,
saying that he spent that night there and that he saw him bring some bags
through the back door. Those bags were brought to SL-6 (where the infirmary was,
and where she had her tonsils).
In the Institute, Jarod finds
several tapes about Violet.
Miss Parker and Broots are in
SL-6, where they are going to leave the pictures they took to Cox. Broots drops
what he was using to open the door, and is Mr. Cox who opens it to him. He
informs them that the man with him at the mortuary is his father, that joins him
in his hobby - taxidermy. Then, he shows them an animal, in which he's working
on. Before they leave the room, Mr. Cox tells them that he wasn't the one to
take the pictures.
Jarod is watching the tapes he
found, and in one of them, he is able to see the person who was taping them: it
was Dr. Wolverton.
Back at The Centre, Broots found
out an expense report that says that Lyle bought a camera similar to the one
used to photograph Miss Parker. Then, he informs her that it was Lyle who
brought up Cox and that he also was the one who created his position there. Miss
Parker confronts Lyle about this. He explains her that he also got an e-mail
from his father, and that he took those pictures as an alibi for her, just in
case she needed one. Then, he says that something big is going to happen and
that Mutumbo is arriving to attend a meeting with Mr. Cox. In the end of the
conversation, Lyle asks his sister what are they supposed to do and she answers
him that they should wait and pray.
Jarod asks Ann to give Violet's
doll to Dr. Wolverton and also to send him to an address. When he arrives, he
finds Violet there, but before he gets to her, Jarod gives him one of his tranquilizers.
When the doctor awakens, he sees himself trapped in a cave only wearing his
underwear. Jarod confronts him with what he done and tells him that the book he
wrote was based on Violet's observation, not on an investigation. After he
confesses his crimes, he is arrested.
Ann decides to take Violet with
her, because she has a dream, in which her son told her that it was ok. When
Jarod turns to leave, he hugs Violet and gives her a new doll. She says his name.
